This week I decided to make an Italian classic, spaghetti and meatballs. Usually my mom and dad like to grind up the meat and put it in the sauce, but I like meatballs better.
Ingredients:
1 lb. spaghetti
1 24 oz. can of Newman’s Vodka sauce
1 lb. ground meat
¼ cup of seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tbsp. olive oil
Salt
Directions:
Start by boiling water in a pot. Get a skillet out to cook the meatballs and turn it on to medium heat.
When water is boiling, add 2 tbsp. of olive oil and a handful of salt. Add in the pasta and cook according to directions.
Take the hamburger meat and mold it into balls and place them into the skillet. The size of the meatballs depends on you, but I like to make them a little smaller than usual. After you have finished rolling all of the meatballs, coat them with pepper and the seasoned breadcrumbs.
Cook the meatballs until they are brown all the way through. Transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels and take the grease out of the skillet. Put the meatballs back into the skillet and pour the sauce in with the meatballs.
Strain the pasta when it is done and serve on plates. Oh, and do not forget to put some freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top too.
A classic Italian dish is what’s cookin’ this week.
