After sophomore shooting guard Ben Carroll fractured his knee in the game on Wednesday, Jan. 4 against Piper High School, he was in a state of shock.
“I didn’t know what was going to happen,” Carroll said. “It popped, and then everything was a blur.”
Carroll went to the doctor the next day, where his knee was not originally diagnosed as a fracture. After two weeks of limited movement and pain, Carroll returned to the doctor for a final diagnosis.
“I felt useless for the team,” Carroll said. “There was nothing I could do [for my team.]”
Since his last game, Carroll has continued to watch his team win and lose from his seat on the bench.
“I’m proud of the progress the team has made,” Carroll said. “I can’t wait to get back out on the court next year.”
