Blog: A beginner’s guide to excellent eyebrows

Eyebrows. Ahy-brous. Noun. “The arch of ridge forming the upper part of the orbit of the eye.”

If you can’t afford to get yours professionally done every two weeks, don’t fret. There is hope for you. Just follow these guidelines and you’ll be well on your way.

You’ve got to work with what you’ve got. If your eyebrows are naturally very sparse or thin, penciling them on into some crazy shape won’t do your face any justice. Your goal should be to keep them as natural looking as possible.

When grooming your eyebrows, the only tools you should be using are tweezers or anything specifically designed for eyebrows. This does not include a razor, so put it down and keep it far away from your face. The only thing the razor will do is make the hair grow back thicker and faster, which will definitely come back to bite you in the butt later when your eyebrows start accumulating a 5 o’clock shadow.

If you struggle with those pesky little baby hairs in the middle that are too small for tweezers, no worries. I recommend at home wax kits. They’re really simple, nearly painless and for those on a budget, you can get them for super cheap at most drugstores.

If you find tweezing hurts, make sure you’re doing it right. Go slowly, don’t pluck multiple hairs at once (ouch) and flick your wrist quickly for less pain. If for some reason it still hurts, man up ladies. Beauty is pain.
