Blog: Advice for all

It has come to my attention that over the past semester I have failed to dedicate a blog post specifically to boys’ “beauty.” Due to my own femininity, my blog does tend to relate to girls more so than boys. However, I can offer a couple tidbits of advice for any gentlemen readers out there.

While 40 degrees may seem warm compared to the below freezing temperatures we’ve experienced over the past couple weeks, that does not make it okay to come to school in shorts. The spirit week theme is tropical, but it’s still winter and proper winter attire includes jeans and a jacket, always.  Also, while you may be only outside for no more than five minutes in and out of school, dress warm anyway because the last thing Mill Valley needs is more flu-ridden students roaming the halls.

Another thing boys, if you can’t remember your last haircut, it’s probably time for another one. Don’t get me wrong, some guys can rock the long hair. How do you know if you’re one of them? Well, for starters, if you can’t go five seconds without touching your hair or involuntarily jerking your head in order to see, I’m probably not referring to you. Having your hands in your hair will make it greasy and, unfortunately, Harry Styles and the Biebs are among the few who have truly mastered the hair flip. Keep your haircut practical, at a length where you feel you can manage it properly.

Lastly is the topic of facial hair. In my opinion, there are two types. There’s the manly man lumber jack look and there’s the I-just-hit-puberty-what’s-a-razor look. I’m personally not a fan of the second one and believe it should be avoided at all costs. If you even have to question whether or not you look like a manly lumberjack, you probably don’t. If your mustache contains less hair than the legs of female No Shave November participants, I suggest shaving it all off immediately. Sorry, facial hair’s not for everyone.

Remember: shorts are for the summer, hair flips are for dreamboats, beards are for the hairy and Beauty Boss is for everyone.
