Blog: Ashy is trashy
For me, this is typically the time of year when my skin is at its driest due to the cold weather. Even if you’re busy frantically studying for finals because you never actually paid attention during the semester, you’re still not excused for neglecting your skin. There are plenty of easy, convenient ways to keep your skin looking hydrated and healthy this winter.
The best time to apply any type of lotion, salve or balm is the second you step of the shower. The steam helps to open up your pores and better absorb your moisturizer. However, less is more as your skin can only soak up so much. The more you apply, the more likely it is to stay on the surface of your skin and get all over your clothes.
For those of you with severely dry and/or sensitive skin, I recommend Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin coconut oil. Not only is it a miracle worker of a moisturizer, but it’s safe on all skin types and smells amazing.
So go ahead, work on your final review packet until 3 a.m. and wake up four hours later ready to tackle the day without fear of rough, ashy skin.
