Blog: Justin Timberlake’s next total knockout
I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a fan of Justin Timberlake (I mean after all, we do share the same name). After his “comeback” of sorts, his music has been better than ever. His newest hit, “TKO,” seems to continue the trend.
In the song, which is the second single from The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, Timberlake ventures a bit from his reinvented pop sound established by songs like “Suit & Tie” and “Take Back the Night.” ‘TKO” introduces a more hip hop sound, almost reminiscent of a chopped and screwed beat. Even though the sound is new, Timberlake still manages to keep his soulful and refined vocals from previous tracks. While the lyrics may not have much depth, the song is still written well overall.
Hopefully this is just a taste of what’s to come with The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2. While I still enjoy Timberlake’s poppy, danceable tracks, a few more songs like “TKO” wouldn’t be bad either. But for now, the song isn’t just looking like a technical knockout: I think Timberlake’s found himself a total knockout.

I love JT’s new hip hop style. His last tour with Jay-Z was unbelievable. He is unstoppable right now.
