Blog: Simple skincare suggestions

Your skin is one of the first things people notice, so keep it clear and radiant by following these few simple suggestions.

You should wear sunscreen 365 days a year. Excessive sun exposure can cause premature wrinkles. Even though you’re not sitting poolside in a bikini, doesn’t not mean you’re safe from the suns harmful rays. Your skin requires protection all year, unless you’re into looking like a 60-year-old woman before you even leave high school. Think about the long term consequences and you can thank me later.

If your skin is oily, drying it out won’t help. It seems logical that using drying products will reduce the look of oily skin, however, they will only increase your skins oil production. So, avoid products that dry your skin out and opt for oil-free cleansers, medicated pads or blotting paper.

Getting enough sleep can benefit your skin. Lack of sleep causes lines and dark circles to form under your eyes, giving you that zombie, half-dead look. Put your phone down, log out of Twitter and get your beauty sleep, ladies.

Your diet does not affect your skin. There are many things that cause acne, but what you eat isn’t one of them. Researchers everywhere have long disregarded diet as a cause of acne. So, go ahead, eat whatever you want, unless you want to fit into skinny jeans this winter.
