Blog: Wearing a fraction of a shirt is not okay
While they’re a cute article to be worn in the summer, crop tops have no place in a school setting. It’s getting hot out and all, but I don’t think buying a shirt that covers an extra 5 inches will lead to any severe heat exhaustion. Not to mention the temperature of the school typically stays around that of a meat locker. Crop tops have a time and a place and the halls of Mill Valley are not it. So, cover your tummy, seriously.
Sure, it’s cute when Dora does it. But please, keep in mind her savvy Spanish skills make up for her otherwise distasteful clothing choices. Unless you are also capable of exploring the jungle with only a primate, an incredibly vague map and a backpack full of miscellaneous items, you need to wear a whole shirt. None of this 3/4 of a shirt business, you Dora wannabes.
On a serious note, what is the deal with this crop top trend? I feel like I’ve seen an excessive amount of bellybuttons this spring. Like is the point to show off your flat tummy, your tan or are you genuinely just very proud of your navel?
Regardless, you can be as proud as you want when school gets out, but as for during the school day, let’s muster up a little more class, ladies.
