Blog: Your makeup doesn’t define you
The popular belief is that makeup should only be worn to highlight your facial features, wearing it otherwise is okay too. What’s not okay is labeling girls based on the way they apply their makeup and tossing around words like “slut” and “hoe”. First of all, both of those words are incorrect. One is a gardening tool and the other means prostitute. Now, how on earth does a little extra makeup imply that a girl is promiscuous, or a gardening tool for that matter? It’s not only mean but also judgmental as heck. Whatever happened to don’t judge a book by its cover?
Personally, I believe that applying makeup is a form of artistic expression, there’s nothing promiscuous about it. If somebody chooses to paint their “canvas” with heavy eyeliner and excessive blush: so be it, it doesn’t pertain to you. If the manner in which another girl chooses to express herself is really what keeps you up at night, you should get your priorities in line. It’s no one’s business but the artist herself.
C’mon ladies. It’s our civil duty as females to build one another up, not tear each other down. So next time you see a girl wearing her makeup a little more creatively than normal, consider the following before labeling her: is she using her body to make money and or garden? If not, keep your judgments to yourself.
