The boys basketball team falls to Lansing 79-36 on Friday, March 7, and ends its season 13-9.

The boys basketball team’s season ended after a 79-36 loss to Lansing during the substate championship on Friday, March 7.

“We played with effort, we played hard but we couldn’t deal with it, they were better,” sophomore shooting guard Kasey Conklin said.

In the second quarter of the game the team cut Lansing’s lead to nine points, but Lansing pulled away in the second half. According to Conklin, the team could not bounce back.

“[At the end of the game] we were all very sad,” Conklin said.

During the game, the support system is what allowed the team to continue on.

“My favorite part of the game was playing [with an electrifying] atmosphere,” Conklin said. “It always makes me feel better to have a crowd by my side, but [Lansing’s] crowd was certainly bigger.”
