Following the grand opening, senior Jackson Drees talks to advisor Dianna Heffernon-Meyers.

The fresh design of spirit wear shirts are available in three colors, two blues and a grey, with a choice of a long-sleeved or short-sleeved shirt.

Senior Catty Shack President Brady Watkins believes that team-building was essential for preparing everybody to work well together.

“We spent a lot more time this year building our team, so we could work better together throughout the rest of the year,” Watkins said.

According to senior Vice President Hailey Stelle, team bonding was essential as it was difficult for the students to work together at first.

“The hardest part [of the opening] was figuring out how to work together as a team,” Stelle said. “Deciding which job each person gets wasn’t easy.”

In technology teacher Helga Brown’s room, sophomore Cael Duffin goes through the items in the Catty Shack Store-on-Wheels.

In addition to assigning jobs, a multitude of other tasks had to be done before the store could open.

“There was a lot of financial preparation, like getting all of our money situated,” Stelle said. “[Then,] we had to order all of the food and new spirit wear after the design was finished. We also had to stock the store and make it look good once everything came in.”

Stelle is eager to see the success of the store as the year progresses.

“I’m really excited to see how well we do, how well our promotions go and how much we sell this year,” Stelle said.
