Fall musical provides entertainment for anyone

The fall musical, “A Christmas Carol,” opened to a packed theater on Sunday, Nov. 4 and continued through Nov. 10. The musical starred senior Alec Santaularia and sophomore Eli Stewart as the grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge.

Despite every performance experiencing technical issues with microphones, director Jonathan Copeland felt that the cast overcame them well.

“They were so professional,” Copeland said. “They kept their cool … people belted a little more than they needed to and really just did an awesome job.”

One spectacular scene during the first act featured approximately a dozen holiday-clad dancers who put on an impressive tap dancing number. Junior Madison Plouvier, who played the Ghost of Christmas Present, said that learning the dance was not easier than it looked.

“If someone wasn’t getting the steps we all stayed late … and worked together,” Plouvier said. “Teamwork made it easy.”

After all the months of singing, dancing and acting, Plouvier said that it felt “flipping amazing” to be able to showcase the cast and crew’s hard work to their peers and the community. Stewart agreed.

“Everything came together really well. We had a really great show,” Stewart said.

Copeland summed up the performance well: “We’ve had a few great shows now, but tonight we took it up another level.”
