To me, Adam Sandler movies will be always be classics. There always seems to be one on TV and they never fail to make me laugh. One I finally got around to watching is “The Waterboy.” It features an uneducated man named Bobby Boucher. He’s a waterboy for a college football team that never wins. One day at practice, he tackles one of the football players after getting angry.. Then,, he becomes a member of the team because no one on the team can tackle better than him.
What I love about Adam Sandler movies is that he really gets into the roles he plays in each movie. Some roles are written to be very similar, like Sonny in “Big Daddy” and Happy in “Happy Gilmore,” but he makes them each their own person. What’s different with Bobby is that he’s an innocent man with a stutter who also still lives at home with his mom. He gets teased by the other football players, but the players learn to love him along with the audience.
“The Waterboy” was made in 1998, but remains a classic movie that’s able to make anyone laugh. It’s a good movie to watch if you’re just hanging out at home or having a movie day with friends. This movie is a fantastic choice if you’re in need of a good laugh.
See you next time!
