Football improves to 2-0 in district play, secures spot in playoffs
Jaguars beat Bonner Springs Braves 48-14 to improve to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in district play, clinching a spot in the playoffs

On Friday, Oct. 23, the Jaguars secured a spot in the playoffs with a 48-14 win over the Bonner Springs Braves. Get the recap here:

Bonner Springs took an early lead with a 4-yard touchdown pass. The extra point was good, the Jaguars trailing 7-0 with 6:55 to play in the first quarter.
7-7; Jaguars
Soon after the first touchdown of the game, senior quarterback Logan Koch passed 30 yards to junior wide receiver Ben Hartman, who ran for a Jaguar touchdown to tie the game at 7. 4:53 remained in the first quarter.
14-7: Jaguars
A 38-yard touchdown run by senior wide receiver Christian Jegen put the Jaguars ahead with 2:46 left in the first quarter.
20-7; Jaguars
Sophomore running back Ike Valencia brought the ball from the one-yard line to the end zone for another touchdown by the Jaguars. The team attempted a two-point conversion, but the attempt failed. There was 9:38 remaining until halftime.
20-14; Braves
With :15 to play in the first half, the Braves completed a 21-yard pass for a touchdown. A successful extra point brought Bonner Springs within six points of the Jaguars.
27-14; Jaguars
The half ended with a Hail Mary pass from Koch to Jegen. The extra point by senior kicker Andrew Hicks was good, giving the Jaguars a 13 point lead going into halftime.
34-14; Jaguars
A five-yard run by Koch and a successful extra point by Hicks extended the Jaguars lead, and were the only points scored in the third quarter.
41-14; Jaguars
To begin the fourth quarter, Jegen ran 22 yards for another touchdown with 11:53 to play in the game. The extra point was good.
48-14; Jaguars
The final touchdown of the game came from a one yard run by Jegen, for his fourth of the night. This gave the game its final score.
The Jaguars will play the Turner Bears in their final regular season game on Friday, Oct. 30, at Turner High School.
