Girls basketball team seek their revenge

The girls basketball team got its revenge against Bonner Springs High School on Friday, Feb. 10,giving Bonner Springs its first loss of the season. After a rough start the team ended up winning 34-33.

The last time the team faced Bonner Springs was Tuesday, Dec. 13 and the Jaguars lost 37-38.

“We had a rough start but we came back, no one gave up because we all thought we could win it,” junior guard McKenzie Koch said.

Sophomore forward Carly Eaton thought the game was very exciting.

“The Bonner game was awesome we had so much energy,” Eaton said. “We stayed together as a team and pulled out the win.”

Koch thinks this win will definitely help the team for the post season.

“I think [the win] is good for us going into post season with the confidence we have now,” Koch said.

Eaton hopes the team can still improve in the post season.

“We can still improve on starting out better and not being a second half team,” Eaton said.

Koch agrees.

“I think playing consistently will help, “Koch said. “[It will help] if we don’t take quarters off and we focus the whole game.”

The team plays at Basehor-Linwood on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m.

“I think if we play to the best of our ability we should be able to win [against Basehor-Linwood], Koch said.”
