Girls golf team competes at Basehor
Team places fourth at meet
The girls golf team competed at Basehor-Linwood on Thursday, October 10. The team tied for fourth place at the meet, which was disappointing for some members of the team.
The tournament took place at Falcon Ridge Golf Club. Several girls went out, including freshman Meg Green and junior Holly Webb.
Golf coach Jack Johnson thinks that although the results are disappointing, this is a great opportunity to improve.
“I think the course got the best of us,” Johnson said. “We did not do as well as we are capable of doing.”
Although this is a disappointing loss for the team, they must recover before the regional and state competitions in order to finish the season on a strong note.
“I think it showed us what we need to do better at regionals and state,” Johnson said.
The golf team’s regional competition will take place on October 15. The state competition is on October 21. After this, the girls’ golf season will come to a close.
