Girls soccer team wins Senior Night game against Bonner Springs

The team held its annual senior night at home against league rival, Bonner Springs and the team came out of the game with an 8-0 victory Tuesday, May 8. This victory concluded the Kaw Valley League regular season play for the team, and the team finished undefeated in the KVL at 5-0.

As it was senior night, senior Kelsey Wakefield scored a hat trick (or three goals) and made this game memorable.

“It felt really good just because it was senior night,” said Wakefield.

Along with the success from Wakefield, the team came together to score five more goals against the Braves.

“I think that since our team has such good chemistry, we were able to stay focused throughout the game and I think that we were able to put up a lot of goals early and just maintain the rest of the game,” said sophomore Abby Sieperda.

The team concluded their regular season Thursday, May 10 against Leavenworth and won 10-0.
