The girls soccer team started off their season with a 5-0 victory against Olathe North High School on Tuesday, March 27.
“It feels great to open the season with a win and I think this will motivate us to do better throughout the season,” junior Megan Schmidt said.
Junior Kayla Hamner scored the team’s first goal of the season and only goal in the first half.
“It always feels good to score a goal, but to score the first of the season, it was exhilarating,” Hamner said. “It also got the team going.”
This seemed to be true as in the second half the team scored four more goals, all by separate players. Juniors McKenzie Koch and Schmidt each scored a goal, as well as sophomores Michaela Remijio and Abby Sieperda.
The team looks for another victory in tonight’s, Thursday, March 28, game against Staley High School.
