Girls tennis team wins tri
The JV and Varsity tennis teams won their tri on Monday.
The girls tennis team won their tri on Monday, Oct. 7 after beating Bonner Springs and Lansing. Junior Courtney Bohnert and senior Kylie Lewis won their number one doubles match.
Bohnert thinks the team played very well.
“As a team, we played very well throughout the season and at league. We practiced hard which led to a positive outcome,” Bohnert said.
This was one of the few matches that Bohnert and Lewis have teamed together on doubles.
“Kylie and I played very well together. We didn’t start playing together until the end of the season. We pulled through and got first,” Bohnert said.
Bohnert was nervous because of the competition this year at league.
“I was nervous to play Lansing because I heard rumors that they were really good this year. Beating them felt really good, and I’m glad I got to go to league this year,” Bohnert said.
