JAGS will conduct a coin drive starting on Monday, Nov. 14 thru Wednesday, Nov. 30. All donations will go to the Shawnee Family Care fund and the De Soto Student Care fund through the Shawnee Mayor’s Christmas Tree fund. Sponsor Jodi Ellis has high hopes for the coin drive.
“I hope students will be as generous as they can be to help with this drive since it will have as direct impact on students within our community,” Ellis said. “I would love for this to be our best donation yet.”
Sophomore Michaela Remijio said she likes the idea of the coin drive.
“It really shows that our school cares about helping others and it’s for a really good cause,” Remijio said.
The coin drive has been turned into a competition between seminars. The seminar with the most money raised will win either a pizza party or ice cream sundae party.
