Mill Creek Middle School performed the musical Alice in Wonderland four times as its annual spring performance starting on Thursday, March 1-Saturday, March 3.
Practice for the musical began with auditions in first semester, which were followed by eight weeks of rehearsals lasting until 5 p.m. each day after school.
Directors Laura Decedue and Mindy Fry were both satisfied with the performances.
“They’ve really managed to pull it together and pull off a really great job,” Decedue said. “This is a hard play and they’re doing a great job.”
According to Fry, the students have done a good job of adapting whenever either of the directors felt that a change needed to be made.
“They’re really quick at making changes,” Fry said. “I give them a note and they just change it without rehearsing it.”
However, Fry still noticed some flaws.
“[They could improve on] projecting,” Fry said. “It’s really hard to fill a whole gym with sound.”
In the end, both Decedue and Fry were excited when the time to perform came and were happy with the end result.
“My favorite part is when the show finally gets here and it all comes together,” Fry said. “I love that part.”
