The choir presented its first concert of the year, titled “A Prelude to Peace,” on Wednesday, Oct. 3. Featured in the program were familiar American songs and patriotic works, honoring the country and those who have served or are currently serving.
Due to the placement of the first week of school on the calendar, the number of rehearsals allowed to the choir to perfect their performance was smaller than what the group is accustomed to. Nevertheless, senior choir member Chloe Stewart said the performance came together like it needed to.
“I thought the concert went well, and that all of our hard work that went into the 10 rehearsals we had was apparent, and we sounded really nice,” Stewart said.
Choir director Sheree Stoppel said she was very pleased with the group’s performance and ability to cope with the shortage on time.
“I’m so proud of them,” Stoppel said. “Everyone really gave it 110 percent and did a wonderful job. They sang from their hearts tonight.”
