Modest is hottest
The Halloween costumes these days are getting a bit risky

“‘What are you supposed to be?’”
“‘I’m a mouse. Duh.’”
Most of us, including myself, can easily recognize this part of “Mean Girls” and can maybe even quote it from memory. So when Karen threw on that piece of little, black lingerie and mouse ears, most of us would think, “Omg! That’s so funny!” But would any of us really go out in public dressed like that?
Halloween can be traced back to a pagan festival celebrated by Celtic people over 2,000 years ago, when it was believed the dead could walk as if they were alive. The holiday as we know it now though, with the dressing up and trick-or-treating, comes from Christian roots where The Seven Brethren deaths resulted in children dressing up in gory costumes to represent these deaths. So how did we end up here, going out with somewhere from 50 to 90 percent of our skin exposed and on display for those around us?
Maybe it has to do with the fact that somehow we believe its okay to show that much on a day-to-day basis, or maybe some of us just think it’s okay because it’s a holiday. Whatever your motive may be, let me say this. It’s not too appreciated.
If you’re going to a party, remember that people want to go to have fun, not to see you half naked and more than likely shivering out of the clothes you actually decided to wear.
But this doesn’t just go for the people here at Mill Valley, this is for everyone.
Recently, there has been new sexy costumes released by Yandy that are inspired by Disney’s “Frozen.”
Yes, you heard that right. Sexy costumes that are inspired by a children’s movie. I don’t know many who would ever wear the “Norwegian Maiden” or “Ice Girl” costume, so why is going out in a skin tight dress with a kitty-ears headband any better? You’re right, it’s really not.
