New volleyball coach announced

New and returning volleyball players and their parents were given the opportunity to meet new volleyball coach Whitney Revelle on Wednesday, May 2.

Revelle’s experience in volleyball includes having coached for two local clubs, as well as competing at the national level. She has been the assistant coach as Olathe Northwest High School for the past two years.

Revelle originally heard about the available coaching job through some of her coaching contacts and knew it was what she wanted to do.

“I became interested in the program right away,” Revelle said. “I am a very competitive person and have no doubt that I can produce results the program wants.”

At the meeting, Revelle assured the players they would have to put in a lot of hard work and shared some of her coaching methods.

“My plans for the Mill Valley volleyball team is for us to compete at a high level and win championships,” Revelle said. “We have the talent to go places and it is my job to utilize it and push these girls to the best of their ability.”

Revelle’s expectations for the team are simple.

“I plan on running my program and doing everything for the betterment of the girls,” Revelle said. “I know that I am looking forward to the future of Mill Valley volleyball. My expectations will be set very high both athletically and academically. I know the girls will step up to the challenge.”
