Senior pitcher Lindsay Mason knows a thing or two about softball after playing for 13 years.
“I’ve been playing since I was five, or six, I’ve also done club teams but quit this year,” Mason said.
Mason is excited for this upcoming season, but she won’t see much of it. After tearing a muscle in her shoulder for a second time, Mason will be out for the season.
“I’m having surgery in two weeks, and I’ll be out for the season. I tore it about a week after tryouts, and I tore it last year too,” Mason said.
Mason knows the team will carry on without her pitching.
“We thought it would be a big impact on the team,” Mason said. “But we have freshmen who have really stepped up and good old senior Jillian Jobe as a pitcher.”
Despite the injury Mason still plans to be involved with the team during the season.
“I’m going to go to all the games and be kind of like a manager,” Mason said. “I’m still on the team.”
Mason still loves the aspect of a team when it comes to softball.
“The love of the game our whole team has makes for a great atmosphere and a great time,” Mason said.
Mason hopes the team will do well in post season this year.
“I am excited to see how far we’re going to get,” Mason said. “And how we’ll we’re going to do,” Mason said.
