What is 4-H?

4-H is a program for kids ages 7-18 where you learn life skills such as public speaking, responsibility, and money sense through many fun projects and activities.

What are some activities you do in 4-H?

I take lots of projects to the fair like sewing, goats and food. I participate in 4-H Days which is basically a big talent show. I go to camps and currently am an ambassador which means that I recruit other people. I plan to run for Miss 4-H next year.

How did you get into 4-H?

My mom was in it when she was my age. My cousins were also in it.

What does 4-H stand for?

Head, Heart, Hands and Health.

Head to better thinking, heart to greater loyalty, hands to larger service, and health to better living.

How would someone get into 4-H?

You can contact the extension office or go to the website and check out different clubs or you can ask someone who is in 4-H.

How has 4-H affected your life?

It’s helped me to become a better person, make a lot of friends and has helped me go farther in life than I would have without it.

What is your favorite thing about 4-H?

Probably just all the great opportunities it gives me. I get to do a lot of awesome things.
