Sophomore Daniel Gray has always had a sense of excitement when the wrestling season comes about. Wrestling since the seventh grade, he has been passionate from thereon out.
“I tried out wrestling when I heard that it was a fun sport,” Gray said. “It turned out to be not only fun, but also a sport that is mentally and physically tough.”
Since his first time stepping on the mat, Gray has been dedicated to the sport and puts in multiple hours of work everyday. As a freshman, Gray wrestled varsity in the 112-pound weight class. Over the past year, Gray went to summer camps and lifted weights daily to prepare for the upcoming season.
“I just hope to gain a lot more experience and work harder than last year,” Gray said.
Gray has constantly worked to improve his stamina and flexibility prior to the start of the wrestling season. Over the summer, he attended multiple wrestling camps and played on a club soccer team. In the fall, he ran daily and played varsity soccer.
“Going into this season, I have definitely prepared strongly,” Gray said. “I’m just excited for the first meet to come around.”
