When she isn’t in the journalism room, she’s singing alto in Jag Chorale. In her free time, Tricia loves to read, write, prance around in her heels, hang out with her dogs and friends, obsess over “Criminal Minds” and sleep — a lot.

The six additional Mr. Mill Valley contestants raise victor junior Cline Boone into the air after his crowning at the StuCo hosted Mr. Mill Valley fundraiser on Wednesday, March 20. All of the event’s proceeds will go toward Boone’s charity of choice: Relay for Life of Jaguar Nation.

In the fifth annual event, junior Cline Boone is crowned Mr. Mill Valley.

After making it to the final round of the competition, senior contestants Zach Bossert and Steven Colling anxiously wait for the 2019 Mr. Mill Valley to be revealed.

Hosts junior Annie Bogart and senior Lindsey Edwards build anticipation before the final rose ceremony.

Confessing his love and devotion for judge superintendent Frank Harwood, senior Zach Bosserts shares the poem he wrote.

Walking on stage for the rose ceremony, senior Blake Aerni is greeted by the other contestants.

In the poetry round of the competition, junior contestant Ben Stove recites “The Victor” by C.W. Longenecker.

With “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls playing, the Mr. Mill Valley contestants perform their choreographed dance routine.

The show begins with an introduction to “The Bachelor” theme and JJ the Jaguar.

The four senior members of the Silver Stars dance team received customized blankets prior to the girls basketball game on Thursday, Feb. 28 to thank them for their leadership on the team. "Being a senior captain this year, I’ve tried to model how the underclassmen should act while on dance team ... It’s important to encourage the other dancers and help them with anything, whether that be dance, school, or personal issues" senior dance captain Addie Ward said.

The girls basketball team defeated Olathe West 56-44 on Thursday, Feb. 28 and will play at Olathe North in the second substate game on Saturday, March 2. “We did pretty well together,” senior Presley Barton said. “We made shots and played good defense and were after loose balls.”

Along with gathered family, friends and community members, the girls cross country team celebrates their win together.
