Student art projects are currently on display for others to enjoy at Country Club Café. The art show opened on Thursday, April 26. In order to have their artwork on display, students must be in a design or art class. On average, five to six pieces of work are selected from each category. Categories include sculpture, wire sculpture, stationary, and package design.
Many positive reactions have come from the art show, according to graphic design teacher Jerry Howard.
“What I enjoy most about the art show is the reaction of the students once they’ve found out they’ve been selected,” Howard said. “Their reactions vary but most [are] excited.”
Junior Grace Rittenhouse is pleased that her artwork was selected.
“I was over the top excited when I found out about being selected,” Rittenhouse said. “I’m really proud of how my work turned out and that others get to see it.”
Sophomore Madeline Lamons enjoys that her work will be admired outside of the classroom.
“It feels really good to have my artwork recognized,” Lamons said. “And also everyone gets to see it.”
The show will run until Friday, May 3. Monday through Friday and is open from eight a.m. to five p.m. and Saturday’s from nine a.m. to 12 p.m.
