Students find it important to incorporate caffeine into their day

With early mornings and late nights, many students find starting their day off with a caffeinated drink important to their happiness and concentration. Many students find that caffeine allows them to stay awake and alert throughout the long school days and without caffeine, they feel negative effects on their bodies.

Sophomore Avery Huber explains how much caffeine she drinks throughout the week and what type she prefers.

“I drink about one energy drink a day which adds up to around 1200-1400 grams of caffeine a week,” Huber said. “I typically drink the Pink Slush Alani because it is my favorite flavor and brand of energy drink.

Senior Trinity Wilson explains her favorite types of caffeinated drinks to have with her during the day.

“My favorite drinks are Rebull, Reign, Rockstar and Celsius,” Wilson said. “I choose which one I want to drink depending on how much caffeine I feel like I will need for that specific day as each one of them has different amounts of caffeine in them.”

Junior Bella McPeake also describes her favorite way to get caffeine in her body in the mornings.

“I love to drink the Midwest Sunset from Oasis because the flavors are really good,” McPeake said. “I usually get a drink from there about once or twice a week.”

Huber also describes where she tends to get her energy drink from.

“I love to go during seminar to get an energy drink from the Catty Shack,” Huber said. “But I will also bring one from home some mornings.”

“When I don’t drink caffeine during the day I tend to get headaches from the lack of it,” Wilson said. “I drink so much of it because it keeps me awake, happy and focused throughout the day and makes it easier for me to concentrate during school.”

McPeake depicts the positive effects she feels on her mind and body from drinking caffeine when she feels needed.

“I love to get their drinks because of how healthy they are,” McPeake said. “Their drinks also have some of my favorite flavors in them so it’s that and the fact that it’s healthy makes it worth it to get a drink.”
