Flix for You: This house might be a little too full

“Fuller House” is a spin-off of the classic TV show “Full House”

When I grew up, “Full House” was my show. I would stay up late to watch it and would ask for the seasons on DVD so I could watch it more often. When I heard that Netflix was doing a spin-off of the original show called “Fuller House”, you can bet I lost it.

For a little background, “Full House” is about a single dad trying to raise his three daughters: DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, with the help of his brother-in-law Jesse and his best friend Joey. “Fuller House” takes a more modern spin on the same basic plot, but the roles are changed. Now, it’s DJ as the single mom of three boys: Jackson, Max and Tommy. She is raising them with the help of her sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy.

“Fuller House” is able to take the similar plot line from “Full House” and make it their own. “Fuller House” fits its time and the writers do a great job of displaying the more modern spin on the show.

It’s a classic family sitcom with a different family dynamic. A majority of the original cast makes many appearances in the new series, which makes me extremely happy. Considering I loved “Full House”, seeing it take place in a more modern form is great.

If you grew up on the original show like I did, I think you’d like this. The writers are able to create new plot lines that fit this day and age and really make it their own. It’s funny and the characters make jokes about current events going on in the world. It’s great with their jokes and will keep you laughing, so it’s a good time.

See you next time and Happy Holidays!
