Underrated KC: Holiday Mart
This week we went to local convention Holiday Mart
October 30, 2016
For this week’s blog we’ll be recapping some of our favorite places from Holiday Mart. Holiday Mart is a annual convention in downtown Kansas City, Mo. that features a variety of retailers, ranging from food to clothes to home decor. Shops from around the country come to sell their products.
Carly Rae is a local artist that paints many different watercolor designs. Our favorite is the KC skyline. She also offers shirts and totes with her KC designs. Although she does not have a shop, you can buy her designs on her website or on Etsy.
A great place to shop for that special pup in your life is The Petal and Bow, a dog boutique that offers bow ties and flowers. Choices range from stripes to polka dots to even your favorite sports teams. You can check them out on their Etsy page.
If you’re looking for something to drink, check out Fireside Coffee Company. They offer a variety of coffee and hot chocolate flavors. It is a bit of a drive as the closest locations are located in McPherson or Sedalia, Mo. We highly recommend the salted caramel hot chocolate or cafe mocha.
Another great place to shop is Schaefer House, an adorable home decor and unique gifts shop. If you’re in the Wichita area we recommend you check it out. Holiday Mart is only once a year so if you don’t have to to visit this shop we recommend you visit. They offer many cute accessories to decorate your home with. It is definitely worth the drive.
The Holiday Mart only comes once a year, and we believe it is well worth it to visit. These four shops are just a taste of the wide variety Holiday Mart has to offer. It will definitely put you in the holiday spirit. When you’ve gone once, we guarantee you’ll make it a tradition to go every year.

Hey! A place you might want to check out is Nazareth Sweets in Lenexa. They have more Greek and Turkish stuff (it’s been a while since I last went), but I enjoyed their food so you might be interested!
