Spring film festival is a student-led project put on by students in the Video Productions class.
The project requires students to work in groups and create a short comedy film. The films are then shown during seminar in the Performing Arts Center for any students that are interested in watching.

Many of the people involved in putting on film festival see many benefits to it. For teacher Laurie Folsom she sees it as a chance for students to express creativity and many other skills.
“Film fest is an excellent opportunity for students to show off their creativity, and at the same time learn skills like time management, the fun stuff you can do with filmmaking, and have other people get a chance to watch it and appreciate what they’re working on,” Folsom said.
For sophomore Nicole Cooper she sees it as a way to work on her leadership skills while working in a team.
“Being interested in the class can help with a lot of leadership qualities in a person and in Film Fest, to see how people think of ideas,” Cooper said.
Film Fest will be held April 1in the PAC. Tickets will be sold during the first five days after students return from spring break.
