On Thursday Oct. 10 the volleyball team celebrated their senior night with an incredible 3-0 win against Lawrence High School.
Senior night is a celebration of all seniors on the team for their last home game of the season. The families of the senior players usually go to the games and cheer them on, while underclassmen and coaches will get gifts for their players creating a loud and encouraging environment for their last game.
Head coach Kylie Corneliusen bought gifts for her players from the program. Celebrating this incredible achievement with all of her senior players, and commend all of the hard work they have put into the program for the tome they have been playing.
During the senior night, senior player Ashlyn Blazer made her debut after tearing her ACL. She was cleared to serve while her teammates cheered her on.
The Jaguars swept Lawrence High School in three sets. Senior Saida Jacobs had a standout performance during the game, and all of the seniors checked into the game for an amazing game.
Coach Corneliusen was very impressed with her team and the athletes they have become.
“Winning games is important but that is also a piece of it, and I can’t say enough great things about them as humans off of the court,” Corneliusen said
Players are equally proud to have Corneliusen as a coach, junior Olivia Nzioki has seen how much her game has grown under Corneliusen’s coaching.
“I’ve gotten way better under her coaching,” Nzioki said. “She really knows what she’s talking about, and she’s really good at what she does.”
