Volleyball loses to Olathe West 3-1

Volleyball played at home against Olathe West Thursday, Oct. 6

The volleyball team was defeated by the Olathe West Owls, Thursday, Oct. 6. The team lost 3-1 out of five matches. Senior Madeline Schnepf described the team’s performance during the game.

“It wasn’t our best game,” Schnepf said. “We only won one set  which felt very discouraging.”

Junior Addison Bailey shared similar feelings about the game.

“I feel like our performance in the game against Olathe West on Thursday was not our best,” Bailey said. “Personally, I was proud of the way that I played that game. They were a strong team but we definitely could have won that game if we played stronger.”

Schnepf described what the team could improve on.

“For the next game, we could work on our serves and serve receives,” Schnepf said.

Additionally, Bailey looks forward to the rest of the season after the switch to 6A.

“I think the rest of the season is going to be really fun,” Bailey said. “The recent change to 6A is a new possibility for a state championship. I think we have all seen what we can do on the court.”

Overall, Schnepf shared her hopes for the rest of the season and state. 

“I feel like we have a really good shot at going to state,” Schnepf said. “We are going to have to keep practicing and working hard if we want to make it there.”
