The volleyball team paved their way to victory, Tuesday, Oct. 22 at DeSoto High School. The match was swept in three sets, with scores of 25-18, 25-10 and 25-20.
Junior Ella Florez describes how the team succeeds by working together and focusing on their strengths.
“We’ve been focusing on togetherness and playing as a team, and that showed tonight,” Florez said. “We played as a team, and that contributed to our performance.”
Sophomore Josie Danielson shares how the team prepared for the game.
“The entire team has spent a lot of time at practice working on all of our skills, like passing, serving and hitting,” Danielson said. “We’ve been making sure we have all the little things cleaned up before we go into the game.”
Danielson explains how the team’s connection off the court has helped them on the court.
“Our communication has improved a lot since we’ve started,” Danielson said. “We’ve grown a lot as a team. Our bonds are better, and it’s helped us play together on the court.”
Additionally, Florez offers insight into their opposition’s capabilities and how they made the game more difficult.
“DeSoto performed well, and their team had a lot of energy,” Florez said. “They were also very scrappy and aggressive. ”
After reflecting on the regular season’s close, Danielson comments on how she has personally improved since the beginning of this year’s season.
“I would give a lot of credit to my coaches for my growth this season,” Danielson said. “They’re always giving me good advice and helping me grow as a player.”
