The varsity wrestling team finished in second place at the home League wrestling tournament Saturday, Feb. 11. Head coach Travis Keal was pleased with the team’s performance at League.
“We wrestled hard and the kids competed well and did a lot of things we work on in practice,” Keal said.
Keal feels the success at League was representative of the overall season.
“We are better now than at the beginning of the season,” Keal said. “They are wrestling harder, they fixed some of their weaknesses and that’s what I like to see.”
He was also excited about the potential shown for Regionals, which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18.
“We did a lot of things that will get us ready for this weekend, because that’s the tournament that matters most,” Keal said. “I feel confident that we are prepared. If the kids wrestle to their ability we will be fine.”
