Members of Young Life, a local youth group that has many student members, gathered at Great Wolf Lodge Saturday, Nov. 10 for Young Life’s Rad Dog Road Trip. The youth group met up with students from schools all around the Kansas City area to learn about the Bible and make new friends.
Sophomore Libbey DeWitte said the students did various activities.
“When we first got there we met everyone, made new friends, and talked to everyone that was there,” DeWitte said. “We had a lot of clubs, which is when we pray and learn about the Bible, and have a lot of interactive activities with the other groups.”
Sophomore Jack Schierbaum said the ‘road trip’ had some great qualities different from their usual Young Life meetings.
“It was a lot like a normal get-together except we had a lot more freedom to do more things that we normally wouldn’t get to do at a normal Young Life thing,” Schierbaum said. “There was a giant game of tag inside the water park.”
DeWitte recommended that other students attend next year.
“[Rad Dog Road Trip] is a great learning experience and you get to meet a lot of new people,” DeWitte said. “You learn a lot about the Bible and the way Jesus lived and how we’re supposed to live, and what the Bible tells us to do.”
